WHO WE ARE

North Shore Basketball League (NSBL) is a thriving community-based basketball program located in St Ives, on Sydney’s Upper North Shore. Offering skills clinics and local competitions for kids, teens and adults, NSBL has become one of the fastest-growing basketball leagues in northern Sydney. From beginner basketball programs for children to weekend games and adult social basketball, NSBL provides a welcoming and high-quality experience for players of all levels.

A Local Basketball Success

 

We are a grassroots basketball club that provides inclusive, community-driven basketball programs for kids, teens and adults - offering beginner clinics, skills development and weekly competitions in a fun and supportive environment.
 

Our enthusiastic, experienced coaches focus on fundamental movement, basketball skill development and game awareness, catering to all ages and ability levels. With a strong emphasis on teamwork, confidence-building and sportsmanship, NSBL has created a positive space for over 800 players each week.
 

From humble beginnings on an outdoor tennis court in 2013 with just 12 players, we’ve grown into one of northern Sydney’s most popular junior basketball clubs. Our milestones include:
 

  • 2013: Moved to St Ives High, finished with 66 players

  • 2015: Surpassed 150 weekly members

  • 2017: Launched Inter-League Competitions and grew to 250+ weekly players

  • 2019: 450 members and added new session times

  • 2020–21: Rebounded after COVID-19 with new programs and a new venue

  • 2022: Reached 750 members

  • 2023: Surged to 820+ weekly players, 48 Sunday teams and 8 adult teams on Wednesday nights

  • 2024: 850 members, 50 teams playing in the Sunday

  • 2025: Looking forward to the new court construction of the new facility opening in 2026
     

Safety, inclusivity and community connection remain at the heart of everything we do. We’re proud to be a local basketball club in Ku-ring-gai that keeps growing and always welcomes feedback as we continue to evolve.
